Busabella's First Week

So having half killed ourselves getting Busabella ready for the summer in record time, we thought it was time to go have some R&R. We had worked all day on Saturday with the aim of driving out somewhere in the evening. The weather has been astonishingly hot and actually the evening is the most comfortable time for a trip, plus everywhere is much quieter.

We drove east along the coast to Milford On Sea in Hampshire. Stopping in the centre of the village we spotted a fish and chip shop and 10 minutes later we were heading towards the sea with supper purchased. We parked up right by the shore, opening the tailgate and sliding side door to let the warm sea breeze through.

We have decided that we will use that fish and chip shop again as not only was the meal very nice, their bags perfectly matched our interior décor;

It was a perfect evening and a beautiful spot to park up. Busabella was getting lots of admiring looks. One lady walked past us and came back several minutes later saying'
 " I hope you don't mind, but I had to come back to ask you about your beautiful VW!"
She was hoping to buy one herself and I showed her the renovation photos as I had them on my phone and no, we didn't mind in the slightest that she was admiring our Bella!

The following day we took Bella over to Swanage on the ferry and then down to Lulworth Cove. We really enjoyed just driving around on the quieter Dorset backroads. It has been a pretty busy week, but we have tried to get out in her as much as possible. On Wednesday Rob's daughter Daisy came to stay and was really keen to go out for a trip. Sods law, there was a huge sea fog that evening, but we trundled down to Mudeford Quay regardless and sat in the van. Daisy loved that;

1. there were cushions in the back.
2. Her feet didn't reach the floor when she was sitting on the rear seat and
3. we put the whistling kettle on and made a cup of tea while we watched the foggy sea!

We have been out in her most evenings that we have had spare, making the most of the good weather. Our routine is to finish work, quickly prepare a portable dinner and find somewhere beautiful to go.
Last night we drove along the coast to Beaulieu and then on to Lepe Beach, which was absolutely stunning. The Solent was full of yachts and we could see clearly over to Gurnard and Cowes on the Isle Of Wight. Again, another lovely chap stopped to tell us how beautiful Bella is and we chatted for ages as he too wants to buy a van. It seems like it is the secret dream for so many people and we are so lucky that we are able to live the dream.
